7 Day Wirlwind Korea Tour Here is a great tour that is packed with all the favorites of everyone I have ever taken to Korea. It provides a little of everything, big cities and rural villages, temples and shopping, history and natural wonders. It also includes a trip to an orphanage in Seoul.
The follow trip may have the following costs depending on how many are in your group (not including airfare): 4 people: $1,050, 6 people: $850, 8 people: $725, 10 people: $650, 12 people: $600.
Day One Travel from US to Korea
Day Two Cross the International Date Line where you lose the day. Don’t worry you make up for it again when you return.
Land in Korea in the PM, transfer to hotel near international airport, have dinner and walk around the small Airport City.
Day Three After breakfast we travel to Andong Hahoe Folk Village where we tour some of the oldest homes in Korea, walk the cobble stone streets, see how people lived 500 years ago and enjoy a delicious lunch. If we are lucky we might get to see a mask dance, or if time is permitting visit the mask dance museum
We then travel on to Gyeongju the city that is a museum without walls. First we will visit Anapji Pond were royalty held lavish parties. It is one of the most picturesque places in Korea. Time permitting we visit the world’s oldest standing observatory dating back to the 7th century.
After checking into the hotel, we will walk the neon lit downtown market and have dinner at a local restaurant. After, I will take you to a Dojang (name chop) maker so that you can make a stamp of your name.
Day Four Waking early, we visit the mystical shrine of Seokguram Grotto high in the mountains. Next we will visit Bulkuksa, one of the largest Buddhist temples. After, we travel to Tumuli park where the burial mounds are several stories high and the National Museum in Gyeongju.
After lunch we travel to Busan and check into our hotel. The afternoon is spent touring and shopping at Busan Jin Market (hands down one of the best traditional markets in Korea) which is one of the favorite places for all. Here you can purchase traditional clothing at great prices. You can also purchase many other Korean items for your home, or office.
Dinner is either at Gwangalli (A popular beach) or uptown in another busy shopping district Seomyeon. Both have fun nightlife and a wonderful place to walk and take in the unique Korean modern culture.
Day Five In the morning we travel to one of the largest fish markets in all of Asia. You will see things here you won’t see anywhere else in the world, and they are all eaten by the Korean people. It is one of the most enjoyable parts of any trip and one kids and adults will remember forever. Next we will go high above the city in the Busan Tower or shop in Kukje Market.
After lunch we travel north back towards Seoul making a stop at Haeinsa Temple where 80,000 of the oldest printing blocks are held. This is a site few in the world get to see.
After traveling to Seoul, we check into our hotel, have dinner and rest for the next day, or visit the local night life.
Day Six We are up early and travel to the adoption agency where you will get to spend as much time as you wish. This may include looking at records, learning about your past and history, and asking questions.
During this time, the adoption agency usually has an English speaking person to help you. I will return at lunch time to check in, or to take you to lunch. The afternoon is also set aside for the adoption agency, however it is open and there is a lot to do in Seoul if you choose. You can visit temples, shopping districts, and historical sites and parks.
That evening, we visit the Korea House for a banquet fit for a king and a cultural song and dance performance that many feel is the highlight of the trip.
Day Seven There is usually four hours in the morning open to do any number of things. We can travel to a temple, a park, or to Seoul’s tallest building. It is up to you.
We usually fly out in the afternoon and arrive home, back in the states earlier that same day. We often leave Seoul at 3:30 pm and arrived in San Francisco at 9:00 am the same day)
