If you are adventurous, and everyone in the group is older than 14 and can carry their own bags, you can do a dirt cheap Korean tour. For this tour, we do not rent a van, we take public transportation. We also stay in Yogwans (Korean motels, where most Korean’ stay while traveling) that are much less expensive than tourist hotels. We eat Korean, stay Korean and are Korean. It’s fun, if you’re up to it.
Because we have to accommodate public transportation wait times, we usually can’t do the same amount and add a day to the trip to compensate. However, a group of 8-10 can travel for less than $500 per person.
